Gabriela Kobus is a visual artist based  in Leipzig , Germany.
She uses her artistic work as a method to sensitize our perception of everyday surface phenomena and to question our relationships to places and people as well as to objects and other living beings.

She is interested in the complex network of habitats and social systems. Paying attention to the forms and value systems that emerge in the process, she searches for patterns of inclusion and exclusion.

The unmanageable is brought into seemingly reliable forms in order to raise new questions in an irritating, sometimes humorous way.

Gabriela Kobus studied at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Pforzheim with a focus on fashion design under Prof. Gerda Ott, sculpture under Prof. Hetum Gruber and painting under Prof. Klaus Heider. She completed her diploma in fashion design.

During her professional experience as a freelance fashion designer, she was in charge of international brands for several years, mainly as Head of Design. Berlin was the center of her life.
Gabriela Kobus' return to free art marked her departure from the fashion industry in 2010.
 She currently lives in Leipzig.
